Clean, peaceful, but quirky and a little disjointed/needing some updates.
Pros: Although part of the house was very old/antique (1700s), it was clean, and well equipped with wifi (not great in certain parts of the home), bathroom toiletries, kitchen items, coffee maker, fans for bedrooms, extra sheets, blankets and towels, and porch seating. As a group of 6 adults and 2 children, we had plenty of room to stay. The guest manager/host was helpful as well, and provided clear instructions for us to get into the home. The grounds were well maintained, with beautiful trimmed lawns and views of the mountains. There were 2 houses directly next door, but we didn't hear from anyone during our stay - it was very quiet. The porch had great views and breezes, and the home had some charming/comfortable decorative elements. There were several restaurants and markets right nearby which made it easy to have local meals, and we had no problem ordering grocery delivery.
Cons: Because the house has had several additions, it is a bit disjointed in the layout and had some quirky elements to it. There are 3 doors to enter but only the kitchen door was really functional. The newer side of the house was better equipped to handle the summer heat, with the older side being warm at night, even with the air conditioning running. There were large fans provided in every bedroom though, which was nice. The largest bedroom on the newer side of the house had spiral stairs to the family room which were open, so it lacked privacy. That bedroom also had several sinks, two doors (other than the open stairs) and two separate shower/tub rooms, which made it feel a little confusing. The only TV in the home (smart TV) was upstairs in a cozy railroad style room connecting the old and new wings through a tiny railroad bedroom (which was actually good for a child). There were also 3 sets of stairs across the length of the house, which was also confusing. While the home was definitely very clean, some of the fixtures were just very very old and need to be refinished or replaced (like old badly stained toilets and dark non-ventilated showers on the old side of the house). The mattresses in the older side bedrooms were not great, they lacked support and you could feel the springs through them. Regardless of these quirks, it was still a peaceful, clean, nice place to stay for a weekend if you need to be in the area.

This spacious home was beautiful, comfortable, and close to all the Berkshires have to offer.
Pros: Very convenient location for visiting the Berkshires. WE were there at peak leaf season and the views/colors were gorgeous. We also liked the privacy of the location and the spaciousness of this home.
Cons: Just a few housekeeping items: The house would be more inviting if the toilets were cleaned and the windows were washed.
