Quality Inn Poughkeepsie

Good value for money at the outskirts of Poughkeepsie

Pros: We arrived late from our train trip to Poughkeepsie and there wasn't a car ready that evening, so we spent the night in the Quality Inn. This seems to be a combined motel (Rodeway Inn) and hotel, but we were lucky to travel at a time when there wasn't much going on, otherwise this might be quite busy. We liked our room, it was clean, cozy and quiet.

Cons: It was okay for us, but as far as I could tell there isn't an elevator to the second floor, which might be problematic for people with mobility issues.

Excellent location

Pros: Location was great; it was easy to get to Vassar College as well as the downtown core.

Cons: Does not apply

Located perfectly for Vassar College, great value if are comfortable in a basic accommodation hotel.

Pros: Virtually on the doorstep of Vassar College where I was visiting my daughter. The facilities were simple and straight-forward but met my requirements.

Cons: Being in the standard rooms, they were on two floors and you could hear people leaving their rooms and arriving, both late at night and very early in the morning.

Upstate New York

Pros: We were travelling without a car and the bus stop into town is very close. There are very good cafes, restaurants and little grocery shops close by. The area is close to Vassar College and appears very safe. A very nice place to stay

Would stay here again

Pros: Staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was simple, but everything you'd need in the morning. Rooms were comfortable. Ample parking. The road outside is busy (also one way for future info) but did not impact us in our room. Didn't manage to use the pool or gym, but they looked good.

Cons: Maid service automatically came in and tidied up, despite it saying that we need to request for this service. Not a huge problem, but would have maybe been more mindful about how the room was left! Frustrated that we couldn't afford to stay the Friday night. Despite being there for 4 nights, the Friday cost was astronomical and it would have been nice to have had some sort of 'loyalty' there, but I understand that business is business.

Accommodating and fast efficiency service

Pros: Karen the receptionist was excellent. Had a problem with the toilet which she took care of immediately. Would of liked the pool to be 24hrs. Would of been nice to take a midnight dip when I got back from the theater. Breakfast was OK, need an extra toaster and 2waffle makers. Liked the variety of food though

Pros: The location was perfect with a fast food restaurant nearby. The complimentary continental breakfast was the standard fare, however everything was tasty and the breakfast nook was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable, nice flat screen TV and the water pressure in the shower was great. Thanks!!

Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like about the room or my brief stay.

Cons: I can't think of anything that could have made my brief stay any more pleasant. PS - You may wish to consider providing a copy of a TV channel guide for reference in each room.

Great place to stay in the winter when the price is lower.

Pros: The location is clean, comfortable and in a perfect location with a lower than usual nightly stay.
