Cozy, good value for money

Pros: They have a large cozy kitchen/sitting area. The room is spacious enough and itโ€™s very easy to reach from downtown. Staff is very helpful.

Cons: The blankets are very thin and not very warm, a bit inconvenient during the winter. I asked for extra but I was still cold even with two. The shower head could be changed.

not bad

Pros: good location, friendly and helpful staff, near the metro station, clean

Cons: too little space for my personal belongings, the locker is very small plus 1 shower towel alone is not enough, you would need 2. it is very noisy unfortunately, but they provide earplugs

Pros: It's close to Queens Plaza, which is a good point to connect with the rest of NYC. Bed could be better, at least a curtain around the bed as other hostel to allow you sleep for those unconscious guests that make noise too late or turn of the light in the midnight. The rest is ok.

Cons: Privacy in beds

Nice place

Pros: The place is well located, there is a station 4 minutes away, there are places nearby where you can buy food, and the place is super affordable. The rooms are small but comfortable. The place is super clean, all the sheets and towels were clean, and the room and bathroom too. The staff are nice and super helpful.

Cons: Well, check-in is only at 4 pm, it is not possible to do it earlier, which is quite annoying. However, they let you leave your luggage with them until check-in so you can explore the city, which is really cool. Check-out is at 11 am, which is a little early if you only arrived at 4 pm the day before, and they have the option of leaving your luggage with them again until 7 pm, but you have to pay this time. It is $7 to keep your backpack or suitcase until 7 pm at night and if you are late you may be charged an additional amount. I found it a bit expensive, but I must emphasize that they have a great system, as they give you a token with an identification number so you can pick up your luggage later. But the experience was super positive, and everyone was very kind, so in the end it was a great experience.

Cheap stay close to Manhattan

Pros: The location is great. A lot of cafes and restaurants around and metro and train station are right there. The place is clean and the kitchen is stocked pretty good. The common area is spacious.

Cons: It's really loud. My room was on the side of the railroad so I could hear every time the train went past. The rooms are pretty small. If all the beds were full, it would probably feel really packed. Lots of stairs, no elevator.

Good, cheap hostel accommodation in a central location.

Pros: I loved that someone was at reception to take me in. It was exactly as advertised, and the common areas were cool. They even let me store my bags for the day after checkout, which was super. I may have paid a fee, I can't remember now.

Cons: When I came to collect my bags, I had to wee, so I rushed to the toilet. My boots were hurting my foot, so afterwards I just sat down for a minute to rest my foot (before collecting my bags and going on my way). But the guy at reception at the time appeared in front of me and started treating me like a criminal. He called me a liar, as if I had tricked him into accessing the common area for the toilet (which I had just used!) He tried to kick me out in a publicly humiliating manner in front of other guests, all the while I was limping. He asked me for my tags as if to suggest I was lying about that too, so I swiftly produced them. I understand squatting may be an issue at hostels in NY but I am not a squatter and did not appreciate being accused of being one. I was a guest after all.
