Pleasantly surprised!

Pros: When driving into town and seeing the hotel from a distance, I was very weary. Once inside, I was totally surprised. Our room and common area were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Kitchen was well stocked.

Cons: Not much going on in town.

Cozy, artsy, homey little stay, making me want to come back soon.

Pros: Lovely common areas and plenty of snacks and tea/coffee to choose from. Bed was comfy and staff was very kind and texted me when I left toiletries in the room upon checkout and left them in the entry for me to run back and pick up.

Cons: The shower made a very loud banging noise while one, which was unnerving.

The Trail in Adams was a comfortable and fun home base for exploring the Berkshires

Pros: The staff gave us a thorough orientation to the hotel and its amenities. Having access to a full kitchen stocked with breakfast and snack items was greatly appreciated. As someone with celiac disease, I was happy that the hotel staff was so attentive to having multiple gluten-free options including delicious local granola. Fresh coffee from a local roaster was also a lovely touch. There are a variety of books about art placed around the hotel for guests to enjoy. I appreciated that touch. Our room featured a steam sauna which was very relaxing after a cold winter day. Downtown Adams is wonderful, many shops and a grocery store nearby the hotel, and mountains on two sides. It is also close to North Adams which is also a very cool place to spend time. We visited MassMOCA and loved it.

Comfort and class at an affordable price

Pros: The Trail was quiet and peaceful. We arrived in the middle of a snowstorm, so it was a warm haven to land. Kate was extremely responsive and kind. The room (Rodney) was super comfortable, and the public spaces were clean and well-appointed. We would have stayed longer to linger, but we arrived between snowstorms and wanted to get back on the (sketchy) roads to avoid being stuck for days! (Though that would not have been terrible!) The bed was dreamy and really comfortable. There was fresh fruit, yogurt, and fresh coffee for breakfast the next morning. We wanted to spend more time exploring Adams, but we will have to return when the weather isn't so blustery!

Cons: I was sorry we could not stay longer. But the point of our trip was to get out of town without having to travel too far (We live in Maine). The team at The Trail did an excellent job!

Fun and charming hotel with terrific staff

Pros: The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. There are snacks in the kitchen that you can enjoy any time. The breakfast was delicous. The hotel is very clean and the bathroom fixtures and kitchen were all new. It's nicely decorated and the artist stories for each room were fascinating. Self check-in and check-out were easy. It's located on the Ashuwilliticook Rail Trail, so if you want to cycle or run the trail this spot is ideal.

I’d go back!

Pros: It was quirky, arty and pleasant. Breakfast was not the usual waffles and granola dare, but homemade and delicious. Comfortable room.

Cons: Parking was not on the premises. Not too bad but made it a bit trying for this older guy to lug his suitcases
