East Harlem Hostel

Pros: Was a pretty good price for NYC, clean, 1 min walk from the subway so it’s the perfect accommodation if you spend all day in the city and just come back to sleep

Cons: Room a bit small and not a lot of storage. Would be nice to have a place to store the suitcases and bags because they were taking all the space in the room. Bathroom was a bit old and could use more storage too and a bath mat. But we asked for one and then it was fine.

Good value for money and convenient location

Pros: Near the subway. Good value for money. Fast responses from hosts.

Cons: The nearest subway station is considerably dirtier than others. Nonetheless, we did not feel unsafe, while there were plenty of police nearby.

Good location, clean and comfortable

Pros: The location is great, only 15 minutes walking from the Central Park north entrance. Subway is 2 min walking. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable! Locks are easy to use, and it was well explained prior to arrival.

Cons: I would like to suggest adding a small mirror in the rooms, to avoid going to the bathroom:)

Cute, cozy place in a unique and diverse area with a rich mix of culture and arts

Pros: A very cute, cozy, humble and lowkey place to stay while visiting the city. It's conveniently located in East Harlem, a diverse, lively and vibrant area with a unique mix or cultures and arts!

Pros: Basic hostel in Harlem with no amenities. 2 bed rooms is very convenient if you don't want to share with strangers. Good prices for NYC!

Cons: The lack of a common kithcen. not the best street in Harlem, many homeless in the streets.

Pros: Clean hostel for a decent price. Good access to public transport. Would come again.

Cons: The neighborhood appears a bit sketchy. Fine for a few days though

Good localization and gentle people.

Pros: The people that works there are very gentle and nice. They left us made the chekin earlier because of the time of our flight.

Cons: I think the cleaning should be a little bit better, but that’s fine.

Quiet place in NY, sleeping well is worth it

Pros: It match with description and photos, no bad surprises. Quiet little bedroom with a tiny desk. I slept very well, good mattress and pillows.

Cons: Everything great. Just a little noise, ventilation from rooftop building next to.

Pros: A simple Hostel but very cosy, calm and clean. Everything went well. If you just read all the instructions how access the entrance and the room with the code you get it's very easy and convenient. My window faced the inner yard so the city sounds weren't to loud. The neighbourhood is a bit rough but I never felt uncomfortable and I enjoyed walking around. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Harlem in the future. The room is a bit small especially if you are two but the price, the cleanliness and calmness weights it up.
