Think b&b instead of hotel

Pros: Great husband wife owned historic place. Rooms super clean. Hot water. Good price, homey feel.

Cons: Restaurant opens at 4pm, if you show up early there is nobody there - more bed and breakfast style than hotel.

Overall, I would recommend this facility for an extended stay. I have to try the restaurant later.

Pros: I like the owners hospitable manner. The beds were very comfortable. The linen smelled so good. The wash clothes and towels were so fluffy.

Cons: I didn't like the dust in the air while sitting in the dining nook at the end of the hall. I didn't like the heavy cream in my coffee. The facility need more creamer for different taste buds.

Nice place to stay.

Pros: The Empire Hotel was clean and owners were very friendly and helpful. We were worried the window AC would not cool the room enough but it worked very well. The mattress was very comfortable. We were happy the place had a bar downstairs where we could have a drink when we returned from our activities in Cooperstown.

Cons: Must use own accounts to watch anything on the TV. Fortunately, we were so tired we fell asleep quickly. Furnishings and rooms were dark. Owner explained it is a historic house, built in 1835, and this limited updates he could do to the property.
