Cozy nice stay in Amherst, Massachusetts

Pros: This was a cozy, lovely property. The bedroom had plenty of space, the bathroom was nice, and the lounge area with fireplace was very homey and inviting. There was plenty of parking space and everything was lean and functional. Definitely recommended for staying in Amherst.

Cons: I did not like that there was no overhead lighting in the bedroom, only the lamps. A minor critique, but it made the room feel a bit enclosed.

Fantastic (to be expected for the price)

Pros: The building itself is absolutely gorgeous, and retains a nice old fashioned feeling while still being comfortable. The staff are super friendly and went out of their way to remember my name and purpose of visit. Full of character and located right in the middle of town, very convenient for Amherst College. The bar is great with a lovely outdoor seating area, and the restaurant food is delicious.

Cons: It is very expensive, particularly to eat there. I had breakfast there on my first day, which was very nice, but about double the price of surrounding places. While I have absolutely no complaints in general, I'm not sure I'd call it good value for money, you simply get what you're paying for.

Simply the best place to stay in Amherst.

Pros: Amazing Staff. Super comfortable beds. Cozy atmostphere. Walking distance from UMass campus.

Elegant, historic hotel in a convenient location

Pros: It’s the only hotel in downtown Amherst, so location is great. Restaurant was good with accommodation for both dairy free and gluten free diets. Fitness center was small but adequate. Beds were comfortable, staff were friendly.

Cons: Parking is limited, but they found parking for us in a nearby lot.

The Inn in the heart of Amherst is cozy, beautiful and professionally run.

Pros: The inn is cozy and beautiful. Staff are professional and kind. Food was excellent. Library with open fire was perfect in winter!

Cons: The only little nit-picks are: They have these beautiful old fireplaces built 100 years ago in the library and elsewhere. But like so many hotels these days they've converted them to gas which is like... really? It would just be so much more satisfying to have a real fire in there with the logs crackling and staff stopping by every hour to throw on another log... at least in the main fireplace in the library. Also the gym is too tiny. But we really did love our stay and the staff was wonderful.
