Charming hotel and manager

Pros: Great hotel with a wonderful room in a charming small town. I have to give a special shoutout to Kai, the manager—she’s absolutely amazing! So accommodating and kind, truly a gem. She made our stay so enjoyable. Thank you, Kai!

Pros: Very friendly stuff… because my friend has problems with stairs we‘ve got the cottage on groundfloor. The breakfast was absolutly genius!!!!

Lovely Hotel, Great Location but need to improve their ecological performance.

Pros: The location was great and the room really nice. Very spacious and nicely decorated. Huge bathroom with a spa bath. The free wine in the evening a really special bonus.

Cons: Rooms are only serviced on request. One of the joys of staying in a hotel is coming back to a room where the bed has been made and the rubbish taken out. This seems to be an unusual cost cutting measure for a hotel of this calibre. The bed and linens should not be changed everyday but the other services should be automatically provided. Also the breakfast was very ecologically unfriendly with everything wrapped in plastic and all the plates and utensils not reusable. Not an environmentally conscious hotel.

I would recommend to anyone.

Pros: Sheryl sp?) at the desk was outstanding. She tracked for a room freeing up, found one and called me immediately. By then I had found something. But nothing beats an offer to help and then someone putting themselves to do it! A class act.

Cons: Breakfast was a bit “light.”

Wonderful historic place perched on a small hill with views.

Pros: Ample outdoor seating with tables/chairs/umbrellas. Well stocked continental breakfast open and ready at 6 a.m.! Coffee available 24/7 via machine. Lots of parking space. Friendly desk staff. Comfortable bed and linens.

Cons: Could only open one window for cool night air. Air conditioner not very effective, and prefer to open windows anyways. Other windows painted shut.

Pros: A lovely hotel and super kind staff. Very cozy and homey.

Cons: The main road was closer than it seems on the picture, but we had a back room so it wasn't so bad.

We enjoyed our stay at a very quaint, well maintained historic property!

Pros: The location was very convenient to where we were going and the evening and morning staff could not have been nicer!!

Cons: Nothing, would stay again when in the area!

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Pros: Exactly what you would expect from a lovely Inn. Charming, historic, friendly and welcoming.

After thirty-five years it is comforting to be able to return to the (Simsbury 1820) House to reminisce, experience the charm and beauty, and in some weird way, be brought to that weekend, when we had our wedding celebration with ninety of our closest family and life-long friends. Thank you to the staff at the Simsbury 1820 House for taking good care of this special place that has brought so much love and joy to our lives. Looking forward to our next visit.

Cons: Since we are getting up there in age, an elevator would be helpful, but not critical. We would just request a room in the first floor. 😁

Perfect for a Weekend Getaway!

Pros: Walked into the hotel and was greeted by live music in the bar area (amazing) and super friendly staff. Room was very spacious and walkable to restaurants around. Would stay here again!
