Haslett House - A Gilded Age Estate

Very comfortable and personal stay with so many new details about the house and the village!

Pros: We were very fortunate to get such a derailed and insightful look into the history of the house! Paul is a very gracious host and you can feel and see the passion he has for this property. He makes some wonderful pancakes too!

Pros: The house is incredible, Paul was very welcoming, and breakfast was great!

Awesome stay

Pros: The house is breathtaking. Clean and quiet. Paul is so nice and accommodating. It's definitely a home away from home. Definitely the right place for couples. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this place. Paul really makes you feel welcomed and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

Cons: That when we left our room we couldn't lock our bedroom door. Other then that it was awesome and we would stay there again

Pros: A beautiful Victorian home with outstanding woodwork. The owner, Paul, goes above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

Very welcoming!

Pros: The interior of the house was simply stunning. The victorian woodwork of mixed hardwoods had been untouched for years and included paneling, an inglenook, pocket doors, coffered ceilings, stainglass windows, etc. etc., that one does not see very often these days. Paul, the owner, was also the best host. Filled us in on the history of the house, how he acquired it, the town, and restaurants. He also provide an excellent breakfast before we left in the morning.

Cons: The house is on a busy street and looks a little run down from the outside. Paul, the owner, is working on painting the exterior so this may change before we visit again.

Amazing stay in an Amazing home

Pros: Absolutely stunning inside. The period antiques and the amazing woodwork in this restored home we absolutely incredible. On top of that the Bed and n the king suite may have been one of the most comfortable I have experienced

Pros: The Haslett House in Fort Plain is a beautiful example of preserved history. I was struck by its classic architecture, original details, and the sense of character that comes through in every room. The setting felt peaceful and rooted in the past, and it was clear the property has been thoughtfully maintained. It brought back memories of the charm and grace found in old homes that tell a story.

Cons: What I didn’t like was that my wife wasn’t there to enjoy it with me. Walking through a place with that much character and history felt incomplete without sharing it with her. It’s the kind of home that invites reflection, conversation, and company.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent and location was perfect for spending a day in the Mohawk valley. Paul thank you for joining us at the end of the meal to share your journey as the owner and restorer of a historic property. Thank you for the hospitality

Paul is not only a great host but he is a kind person that welcomes all in need.
