Grandview Hotel New York

Pros: The night attendant was WONDERFUL! When we came staggering in after midnight, he met us with a smile, armed us with coffee, cheerfully helped us when tired traveller brain couldn't open the door. The room was Itty as expected for a budget room but the shower was HUGE, had a cranking a.c., in room coffee machine and snacks (surprise!) and a grab and go breakfast complete with bagels this morning.

Cons: I asked the morning desk person the name of the night attendant and she refused. 'What did he do wrong?' Absolutely nothing! Even after explaining I just wanted to thank him online because he was amazing, she shrugged and said 'He is new. I don't know.' It was really odd.

Pros: The location is excellent. Just outside the bus stop is there. So, it's very easy for people who don't have a car. The room and washroom was clean.

Cons: Breakfast can be improved. They just have bakery items.

LOCATION! Safe, decent price

Pros: Location: Bus stop in front ($2.90) to Flushing main station for subway (and fantastic food on Mainstreet in Chinatown) or 20-ish min walk. Grocery, pizza, liquor, an easy short walk. Keurig coffee in lobby, knowledgeable, friendly front staff there 24/7. Never felt unsafe, but always be aware of surroundings!

Cons: Cleaning smell at times. Low water pressure and small room.

Great value

Pros: I liked the value for the price we paid. The rooms were clean. Close to many restaurants and grocery store.

Cons: The room was a great price for New York City, however they are very small rooms.

Pros: Although the rooms are small it is enough for a couple, the bed and bathroom are spacious and comfortable, you can tell that there is a good cleaning, for the price it is perfect, transportation is very easy between the hotel and the city, excellent if you want to pay something cheap just to sleep while you spend a few days in NY.

Cons: I got a room on the 4th floor, sometimes the elevator is a little slow because there is only one elevator for everything. The coffee maker in my room didn’t work, the wifi didn’t work well.

Nice, clean and friendly

Pros: The motel is very clean and has all the necessary facilities for a motel. The location is excellent with a bus stop in front of the motel. The motel is under new management and is now offering a free breakfast. Not much there and needs to be improved.

Cons: For the money, the value is perfect.

I recommend visiting him.

Decent hotel close to Mets stadium, lively neighborhood, and number 7 subway

Pros: With the free parking, the Grand View Hotel is an excellent value for the price. It is a decent hotel way out in Flushing near the Mets stadium and subway/buses to rest of New York. Cons: You have to stop at the front desk and re-code your room card almost every day. Not a big deal -- it's fast and it's a good thing that they are checking the guests.

Clean and smart and great value

Pros: Great property and location. I selected primarily on price, proximity to La Guardia and parking. The staff were friendly and the rooms tidy and very comfortable. Typical American in-wall heater/air-con arrangement. Plus a fridge.

Cons: Being by the lifts, and the tiled floors there, means sound carries quite well. I wasn’t sure if they were guests or staff but you could hear quite clearly in room.

Pros: Grandview hotel had a great location with easy access to buses. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons: The only downside was the smell of cigarettes, which was a bit of a disappointment for non-smoking individuals like myself. However, overall, it was a great experience and I would still recommend it to others.
