Wonderfully quirky delightful place to stay

Pros: Quirky and full of character old property with plentiful varied sitting areas. Staff overall friendly and helpful. Tanglewood is nearby and worth a visit

Cons: Only issue we had was the Tavern- probably needed more staff as the barman seemed harassed and didn’t serve customers in turn

A wonderful and delightful place to stay. Almost perfect. Just need to upgrade the restaurant fare.

Pros: I loved that the historic quality of the Inn was preserved and that it had not been renovated to death. Its antique charms were well preserved and that’s what I loved best. The creaking floors, the dark hallways with nooks and crannies, the wonderful antiques. Please don’t change!

Cons: The food! We stayed 5 nights and I only had one good meal during that time. After the first two days, we stopped eating at the hotel.

Lovely old fashioned inn

Pros: The gentleman at the check-in counter was lovely - he was polite, welcoming, and provided all the information I needed for checking in and checking out. He also helped me put in a reservation for dining at the inn's restaurant the same evening I checked in. The lobby/reception area is charming and very comfortable. I particularly liked the rocking chairs where I could just sit with a drink and chill. My room is beautifully decorated in the old New England style, and very comfortable.

Cons: This isn't a deal-breaker, but I have so spoilt by key cards that I was not very comfortable with the old fashioned keys to the rooms!

Great location great staff and lovely unique building

Pros: The hotel is unique. The main building is 18th century and it has worn well. There are interesting things to see in every corner. But the real star of the hotel is the staff, they are lovely.

We were both very pleased with out stay. We'll be back one day.

Pros: The room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was excellent in the very nice dining room. The old-fashioned atmosphere of the Inn is a welcome change from Marriott, etc.

Cons: Carrying our luggage from the back of the back parking lot. It isn't easy when doing so, to find out how to get back into the Inn. The various taxes added to our bill.

Pros: Breakfast was delicious, rooms nice size, historic setting, friendly staff, Jane and Jack, dinner at the tavern was delicious. Decor is great, coffee in morning is greatly appreciated. Lovely shops and great location

Cons: The warm water on the faucet never seemed to get warm- even waiting over minute- same for shower, rooms were very warm and trouble regulating temperature- needed to open windows; getting screen down was difficult. Alcohol is very expensive

Pros: We loved the location of the Red Lion Inn. Great little shops, restaurants and pastry shop nearby. The Inn had several dining options and a beautiful deck to enjoy. The beds were very comfortable and the room was cozy!

Pros: Full of character. Beautiful old building with much of its original decor. Friendly staff.
