Overall, a nice hotel: would gladly book a room again next time.

Pros: This was our second stay at this hotel, and we were once again satisfied. The room was spacious and clean, with adequate amenities. The staff was helpful and friendly, even helping us get the elevator several times, although that wasn't required. It's a quiet neighborhood, close to Central Park and the metro, with plenty of restaurants nearby.

Cons: One (of the two) elevators wasn't working properly for 2 days, which was quite annoying, hence 9 stars, instead of 10.

Great hotel just a train ride away from the city centre.

Pros: The hotel was within walking distance to the subway. There were plenty of local shops and eateries, all very good.

Cons: The only slight negative for us was the heat of the water for a bath/shower. It was just not hot enough, we tried early morning, late afternoon and evening.

Pros: Hotel was clean and well situated for us to visit family - sole purpose of our trip. Staff were helpful and efficient.

Good middle of the road hotel

Pros: Very close to people we were visiting. All staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful.

Cons: We stayed for 2 periods with a weekend away in between. For the first period of 2 weeks we were cumulatively charged, initially, $5,246 instead of the $4,700 rate confirmed by Booking.com, through whom we made the reservation. This was corrected at our request and my credit card was credited 4 days later. The correction process was fine, but the hotel should examine why the correct rate wasn't applied initially.

Pros: Friendly staff. Complimentary coffee. The maid service is excellent. Clean rooms. Comfiest bed I've had in a hotel. Quick easy check in and check out.

Cons: The price but I guess that's just New York and the area. I couldn't fault the service so it was still great value.

I enjoyed my stay in this family friendly hotel.

Pros: I liked the neighborhood. The hotel is quiet. The bus isn’t far. The staff is quite agreeable and helpful. It’s helpful having a mini fridge and a microwave.

Cons: The hotel could use some refurbishing. Over the years it’s gotten old and needs a new paint job, better lighting in the rooms, carpets need to be changed and mattresses as well. It’s also a pity that they don’t have breakfast in the hotel. You need to go to a coffee shop a couple of blocks away. You can however buy small snacks.

Great value, great location, great neighbourhood. We would definitely use it again.

Pros: Excellently located hotel in the Upper East Side with great facilities nearby. Decent communal facilities in hotel including laundry in basement, drinks dispenser on ground floor, friendly, helpful staff. The bedroom had a microwave and a fridge which were very useful travelling as a family and helped keep costs down.

Cons: Another lift as there was always a long wait. It's a large, busy hotel.

Summer in NYC

Pros: The accommodation was in a great location, the room was spacious enough for our travel plans. The beds were comfy and the wifi worked well.

Cons: Nothing, it was allgood.

Well run mid-range hotel in a great location

Pros: Busy, well run mid-range hotel in great location. We had a junior suite on a high floor with a balcony, for 7 nights. Loved the bathroom layout incl. a shallow bath that was not a safety risk to climb in and out of, not new but well maintained & classic hotel design. Comfortable bed in the bedroom, although the sofa bed was very basic to sleep on. Good sized for NY. A card-operated Laundry in hotel next to the Gym was a bonus and very clean. Staff were very helpful. Loved the location away from v. busy tourist zone, old NY neighbourhood feel with so many restaurant options, food shops, cafes, supermarkets. Would have stayed much longer!
